2013 People’s Prayer Breakfast

People from across the country joined together to pray and to stand in unity with those suffering economic hardship and inequality in our nation;

The emphasis on this years speakers and discussion panel was centered on the topic; How can faith communities can get better involved within/with Social Justice Movements, and how can people involved within Social Justice Movements involve the faith communities more effectively (the engagement with each other).

Speakers were:
Rev. Graylan Scott Hagler
Afeef Khan
The Buddhist from Kunzang Palyul Cholin and others
Rev. Cortly CD Witherspoon
Members of a local Hari Krishna community
Lena Ibrahim (student advocate for Palestinian Hungerstrikers)
DC Housing for all

The People’s Prayer Breakfast was initiated in 2012 by Occupy Faith, The Peace House is helping with organizing the event this year
